INSPIRATION

Guardian Angel

Sometimes, protection does not need to announce itself.

In Guardian Angel, Mouono explores the quiet presence of someone who stands behind us—not to overshadow, but to protect.

A man stands behind a seated woman, his presence suggesting watchfulness, reassurance and care. Their relationship is deliberately left open. They could be siblings, lovers, parent and child, or simply two people bound by a profound sense of responsibility for one another.

That ambiguity gives the work its universality.

Because throughout our lives, protection can take many forms. Sometimes it is physical. Sometimes emotional. Sometimes it is simply knowing that, should we stumble, someone is there.

Against the darkness of the surrounding scene, Mouono reminds us that a guardian angel need not have wings.

Sometimes, it is simply someone who chooses to stand beside us.
