Annah Nkyalu
Annah is an extraordinary artist. The quality of her work amazes me, but what amazes me even more is that she creates her magnificent works using mainly one tool: a ballpoint pen!
So, it was unthinkable not to find out more about this artist after discovering her beautiful solo exhibition My Blue Eyes on an art website.
Much to my delight, we arranged a video call to get to know each other. Annah told me all about her artistic journey; from her passion for drawing from an early age (which sometimes led to distractions and punishment in class) to a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, and then to the rediscovery of her artistic talent thanks to her magic wand (her ballpoint pen).
Annah has been a full-time artist for several years now, and she says there’s no doubt she’ll be one for the rest of her life. In addition to perfecting her art, she teaches young artists to be confident in their talent, assert themselves as artists, and be proud of it.
For me, Annah is a real source of positivity and hope for building a solid artistic future, and I couldn’t be happier to have such an inspiring and proactive artist in the ARTssembly.
Thank you so much for this refreshing conversation, Annah. You breathed new life into my mission.
