The Cost of Becoming

In the mirror of the soul, a reflection stares back—

a gaze that sees the path ahead, yet hesitates to walk it.

The eye, a window to the heart and a keeper of desires,

guards the dreams that refuse to be silenced.

There are things that hold us back,

anchors cast deep beneath the surface.

Emotions that bind.

Habits that entwine.

The familiar, the comfortable, even the cherished,

must sometimes be surrendered upon the altar of growth.

For the road to destiny is often paved with surrender—

a journey of release,

of trust,

of letting go.

The eye that distracts,

the hand that hinders,

must be relinquished,

so that the spirit may move freely toward its calling.

The one-eyed vision sees beyond the veil.

It perceives a future still unfolding,

a promise not yet revealed.

The choice remains ours:

to follow the path,

to release what weighs us down,

and to pursue the deepest longing of the heart.

For in the end,

it is not the things we cling to that set us free,

but the things we are willing to release.

Yet even then,

it is not sacrifice itself that grants us life.

It is grace.

Grace that paid a debt we could never repay.

Grace that reaches beyond our failures,

our sins,

and our wandering ways.

And it is that same grace that leads us toward the promise—

the hope of eternal life,

and a future still to come.
