Selorm Agamelah

Right from the start, I had been captivated by the beauty and texture of Selorm’s artwork on Instagram. While watching videos of him painting, I realized he didn’t use brushes, but cards. Wait a minute… Cards? The description of one of his pieces then confirmed it for me. Indeed, Selorm paints with credit cards, telephone cards, broken rulers, or plastic cards he cuts out himself. How could I not contact such a phenomenal artist?

Our meeting via video call got off to a flying start. First, Selorm gave me a tour of his magnificent studio, where I could contemplate both finished pieces and others in the process of being created. I was spellbound as he explained his creative process, from recruiting models from everyday life, photographing them in his studio, creating the piece based on the photo, and finally paying the model a portion of the profits from the sold artwork. Selorm also showed me the tools and types of products he uses to give his pieces different tones and levels of thickness.

In brief, he gave me such a compelling view of his artistic world that I had no question to ask him other than whether he’d like to join the ARTssembly. Deep down I was praying he’d say yes… Since his beautiful work is featured here, I’ll let you guess his answer. 😊

In Selorm, I have found a great source of inspiration as I pursue my mission to promote artists who are talented, passionate, determined and dreamers as he is.

Thank you so much, Selorm, for this most uplifting encounter!

Now let us enjoy his phenomenal artwork.
