Through this minimalist and symbolic composition, Karuma explores emotional resilience and the invisible layers of inner experience. The central figure, partially concealed behind geometric forms and translucent textures, appears suspended between exposure and self-protection.
 
The work evokes the defense mechanisms people build in response to emotional wounds, social expectations, and imposed silence. The eye positioned at the center functions as a quiet presence — both witness, conscience, and inner memory.
 
As throughout her practice, Karuma uses a subtly mysterious visual language to address themes of vulnerability, emotional repression, and the ways African societies navigate sensitive subjects. Balancing abstraction and emotion, the work invites intimate and deeply human reflection.
