From the first seconds Wisdom appeared smiling on my screen for our Zoom call, I felt at ease. He was totally in the image of the artist I had imagined. A very talented artist who exudes joie de vivre and doesn’t take himself too seriously.

In fact, laughter and joy were the first things I felt when I looked at his work. His combination of expressionism and figurative art piqued my curiosity, as I’d never seen anything like it. So I contacted him right away.

One of the things that struck me most during our discussion was his description of his art as “naturally ugly”. I couldn’t help but burst out laughing because I find his art intriguingly beautiful and I totally understand why his pieces sell like hotcakes.

I admire the fact that he has never let his negative life experiences compromise the lightness and good humor of his art, which subtly laughs at life’s difficult moments.

It was a very enjoyable encounter and I got off the call happier. Thank you, Wisdom. Your work and your personality are truly contagious.
