I stumbled upon Winifred’s art on Instagram and was attracted by its magnetic colors and the fine way she captures African strength and beauty by mixing graphite pencil, acrylic, and oil paint.

Winifred graciously accepted my request for a Zoom call and – let me tell you – she had as many questions for me as I had for her. During this two-way interview, we answered each other’s questions about our artistic background, practice, and goals. I loved the way our conversation went because I felt I was dealing with someone diligent, curious, and determined, which are qualities I try to cultivate daily.

As a driven female artist, Winifred doesn’t care much about the competition in the art market. She just paints every day (in particular numerous commissions), living her passion fully and moving forward.
