Rotimi Akinnire

Rotimi’s works transport me to a world where nature reigns supreme, invigorating me like a long hike in the forest. I find his art a breath of fresh air in a world where we often don’t have time to “breathe” and contemplate the simpler things in life.

I was lucky enough to learn more about Rotimi during our video call.

The son of a draughtsman and architect, Rotimi fell naturally into the world of drawing. He remembers how much he loved watching his father draw. So it was at a very early age that he began to try his hand at this art form, also influenced by comic books.

His love of nature was born and developed during his grandmother’s visits to the countryside. There, he would wander and sit in the forest, contemplating trees, streams, and rocks, and sometimes seeing human forms in these elements. These lush, transcendent images gradually found their way into his paintings.

Through his art, Rotimi wishes to remind us of our sacred connection with nature and how much of a gift it is. He reminds us to cherish and protect it.

Thank you for this precious reminder, Rotimi.

To experience an unparalleled escape right from your home, I suggest you hang one or more of Rotimi’s restful works on its walls. To do so, contact him here: https://www.instagram.com/rotimi_akinnire/
