King Ngabonziza

King and I agreed to a Zoom call, after a few e-mail exchanges. Initially, I had been won over by his impasto paintings, which I feel tell a story with such sensitivity. I find his work full of finesse and emotion, and my hour-long meeting with this talented artist added even more depth to it.

King took me through his world from start to finish; from his artistic development, which involved convincing his parents that art was his vocation, to his overall perception of art in Rwanda.

Now a full-time artist, King is open to collaborating with other artists and is keen to share his art across all borders. Hearing him say that he loves painting more than anything reminded me how important it is to believe in your dreams and listen to your heart, no matter what people say.

I’m truly honored to have met this passionate and optimistic artist. I hope that one day our dreams will converge to give rise to a physical exhibition where you can contemplate his work in the flesh.

In the meantime, enjoy his beautiful art online, and don’t hesitate to contact this wildly talented artist. His calm demeanor, his ability to listen, and the way he lays out his work will make for an unforgettable artistic experience.

Thank you, King!
