Elisha Nyong
Having Elisha on this website is something I’m very proud of. I mean, look at the quality of his work. I was stunned when I stumbled upon it on an art-selling platform. I contacted him right away. Initially, we had scheduled a call at 10:30 AM (Nigerian time), which meant 2:30 AM my time (Canadian time). When I woke at 4 AM and realized I had missed our call, I called him immediately, and he kindly agreed to reschedule for noon (Canadian time) to make it easier for me.
Then we had a really meaningful conversation. Elisha shared his artistic journey and mindset, especially how he continued pushing forward despite negative reactions to his work early on. His resilience, passion, and insight into art truly inspired me.
Elisha Nyong is a Nigerian visual artist whose surrealist work serves as a deeply personal manifesto—an evolving exploration of the human condition and the cosmos. Rooted in the philosophies of André Breton, the dreamscapes of Dalí and Botticelli, and the psychological depth of Freud, Elisha’s art invites viewers into a world where reality blurs with metaphor.
Born in the late ’90s in Lagos and raised in Akwa Ibom, Elisha’s artistic journey began with childhood sketches inspired by his mother’s biology books and evolved through portraiture and local art competitions. At just 14, he won the jury prize in the international “Art for Guns” competition, affirming his path in art.
A graduate of Fine and Industrial Arts from the University of Uyo, Elisha’s style matured through mentorship and experimentation—drawing from Akan David’s symbolic Surrealism, Pan-African themes, and time spent at the Universal Studios of Art in Lagos. Today, his work is a bold synthesis of realism, impressionism, and surrealism—anchored in both ancestral heritage and universal inquiry.
His canvases don’t just speak—they question, provoke, and reveal.
If you’re ready to own a piece of that vision, explore and collect Elisha’s extraordinary work at [insert website]—because some stories are best told on canvas.
