The piece through which I discovered Samiyah is called Essence of Oya. Looking at it through my screen, I could feel its powerful and mystical energy, which, for me, was what made it so beautiful and compelling.

What I felt made me want to know more about Samiyah, so I didn’t hesitate for a second to visit their website. There, I discovered pieces that were each more beautiful and profound than the last, as well as an even more mysterious artist. Indeed, the more I read about their work, the more I wanted to know more about them. So it didn’t take me long to contact them and ask them to be part of the ARTssembly.

I was delighted by their positive response. As I write these lines, I haven’t yet had the chance to talk to Samiyah face-to-face because of their school commitments, but I’m looking forward to it. I need to meet this cryptic and insanely talented artist to gain a better understanding of their artistic world. Until that happens, let’s immerse ourselves together in their magnificent artwork.
